The toxic agent in most antifreeze, including the widely sold brands Prestone, Xerox, and Peak, is ethylene glycol. But one new brand, Sierra, promotes itself as safe for people and pets, and essentially non-toxic. Because its main ingredient, propylene glycol, is less toxic.
